Every year teams have that player or players that breakout and truly put themselves on the map. In past years for the , theyve seen players like Tyler Allgeier in 2022 and Nate Landman in 2023, really solidify themselves as top perennial players for their franchise.This season, however, everyone has turned their eyes to the teams star wide receiver Drake London to have his very own and he certainly has the tools to do so.Drake London was selected by the Falcons at No. 8 overall in the 2022 draft and since then, he has been Deandre Hopkins Jersey the team's go-to receiver after Atlanta traded Julio Jones to the the year prior.In Londons rookie year, he dealt with Marcus Mariota as his quarterback, seeing only 866 receiving yards and four touchdowns due to the run-heavy nature of the offense. In Londons sophomore season, he had a mixture of two quarterbacks to sing him the ball Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke where he would record 905 receiving yards and two touchdowns.This offseason, both the offense and the team as a whole, saw a major shift: Arthur Smith was relieved of his duties as head coach, and starting quarterback Desmond Ridder was traded to the .This offseason, owner Arthur Blank and his staff got to work to retool this team. Raheem Morris was hired as the teams new head coach and former Kirk Cousins signed with the team to become the new quarterback.Throughout the offseason thus far, Morris has spoken very highly of the superstars on offense and on Tuesday morning, Morris spoke to the media and raved about Londons physicality out on the field.Absolute toughne s, said Morris how he plays and how his demeanor shifts when he gets on the field, the nicest kid in America when hes talking to you guys but as soon as he puts on the helmet and the pa s is thrown and the competitive edge kicks in, you just see this toughne s that I personally didnt know about.New offensive coordinator Zac Robinson comes in having worked with Raheem Morris in under current Rams head coach Sean McVay. During Robinsons time with the Rams, they used 11-personnel (one running back, three wide receivers, one tight end) 93.1% of the time in 2023. A main beneficiary of that offensive package was rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua. The fifth-round pick in 2023 recorded a whopping 1,486 receiving yards (fourth best amongst receivers) and six touchdowns. If Robinson replicates the packages that they used in Los Angeles, London may very well be used in the Nacua-like role eating a lot of targets and scoring plenty of touchdowns.Much like Morris, Robinson has gushed over the plethora of talent that he has on his hands ever since joining the staff earlier this offseason. Theres really nothing that Drake cant do from a receiver standpoint, Robinson said Tuesday morning. He has every route, he has every tool, and in the run game, hes a weapon. Robinson would also praise Londons physicality and dog mentality which he took note of even dating back to the receivers time at USC. Robinson says London will be a prominent feature in Atlantas new look offense in 2024.Going from Ridder to Cousins should without a doubt be an extraordinary upgrade for London, as Cousins has been a top quarterback in the league throughout his career along with helping receivers such as Justin Jefferson, Stefon Diggs, and DeSean Jackson have outstanding seasons respectively. London had a chance to talk about what its like to have a quarterback of Cousins caliber Tuesday afternoon after camp practice concluded:Hes proved himself day in and day out to be a ball player and to have him on my side now is really, really cool. To go out there and see No.18 is dope.Everything is on Londons side heading into 2024. He has a top-level quarterback throwing him the ball, an offensive coordinator who wants to feature him, and most importantly he has the talent to be able to have a stellar junior year.This should be the season where fans and analysts see Atlantas top receiver amongst the best acro s the entire league.
